Meet HomieLee, the South African hip-hop artist who's been making waves with his authentic and creative sound. Born Mosa Oscar Peters Olifant in Kroonstad, HomieLee is the only son to his mom and second to his dad - a fact that's influenced his unique perspective and artistic voice.
HomieLee's musical journey began in grade 6, where he started performing Gospel rap songs that showcased his early talent and passion. By grade 8, he was already creating his own music, including a remix of Cjay's song from the USA - a testament to his innovative spirit. In high school, he took his craft to the next level by producing his own beats and songs, laying the foundation for his future success.
But HomieLee's path to stardom wasn't without its challenges. In grade 11, he faced a devastating setback when he lost all his work except for his lyrics. Anxiety threatened to derail his dreams, but HomieLee persevered, using the experience to fuel his creativity and collaborate with new artists and producers.
Today, HomieLee is a force to be reckoned with. His association with Madd'Shiid Records has led to landmark collaborations with Breed XI, including the critically acclaimed Overdrive EP (2024) and a string of songs that showcase their undeniable chemistry and talent. Prior to joining the label, he released his debut tape, Love Scars, on Audiomack, featuring Breed XI, and later dropped the single "9 to 5" with Madd'Shiid Records.
With his unapologetic flow, infectious energy, and unwavering dedication, HomieLee is poised to leave an indelible mark on the music industry. When he's not creating music, he finds solace in exploring new experiences and connecting with his community. As he continues to evolve and push boundaries, his unique sound will undoubtedly inspire a new generation of artists and fans alike.
